Kia ora, everyone. I hope you all had a nice holiday. I was so excited to see everyone back at school feeling all refreshed! Many children shared stories about what they did on their holiday.
This term is a very special term as we have our big event Operetta in Week 9.We have already started talking about what the operetta involves and we are reading "Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish" which is what we will perform ..
We have started talking about dinosaurs and will develop our knowledge on this topic this term. The children are really excited. We have created a mind map of where the children's knowledge is in order to know what their interests, questions and wonderings are.
This term, we are starting Buddy Time which happens after Positive Assembly. Buddy Time is simply a time to spend with the older students from Room 18, mainly reading together. Our children take their books and read to them, and the Room 18 children read books to our children. It was extra special because Room 18 just moved into their new classroom. Our children were so excited to be able to experience this wonderful room!
Hine is Room 18's kaiako and she had said to me that the children in her class are interested in Sign Language, so the Room 2 children discussed this.We decided to show them "One Call Away" song in NZSL, so that we can learn together. Our aim is to make another wonderful video in NZSL with the children from Buddy Time. Wouldn't it be wonderful to do this cool project together? Thank you so much for having us, Hine and Room 18 children. Our children really enjoyed Buddy Time!
Look at how the children really enjoyed Buddy Time!
