Te Rā

 We have been talking and learning about te rā as we are preparing an item for our Operetta production. As the story will be based on How Maui slowed the sun, we have been reading this story which our tamariki know really well. 

We drew the sun in sharpies and painted it with yellow and orange dye. These look so amazing! 

Term 3 week 1 and 2

 Welcome back to Term 3, our children have settled back to the class and really enjoying playing with each other. We are starting to talk about our operetta and what we do for the operetta item. 

Here are the highlights of week 1 and 2! 

Some fantastic play happening in Room 2, block building with atua puppets has been going on for a long time. Chilren love working together to create a story together. Some children are really interested in doing puzzles and they are challenging themselves at difficult puzzles. Some children enjoy manipulating with shapes and makes some very intricate creations using the shapes. Others enjoy creating at the art table. We also love going down to Pūtikitiki and explore in nature. I think it is really important to be moving our bodies and freely move around.
