We will have the operetta in Week 9. It is called Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish. We have been learning a lot about dinosaurs and their special features.
Last week, the children made dinosaurs using their photos. This week, we have been discussing dinosaur eggs, as well as fossils.
Today was a special day that the children were looking forward to, as we decided to make dinosaur eggs!
We mixed some sand, flour, water and salt. Look at the photos! After we made the mixture, we tried to cover a small dinosaur toy with the mixture. We found out the mixture was too runny so we added some more sand. We decided we would just make it into an egg shape. The children rolled the mixture in their hands. It was quite therapeutic as it was cold, soft and felt nice to touch. Some children spent a long time just rolling it into a ball. We placed them on the egg carton to dry.
We have left the eggs for the weekend to dry. We will find out what they look like on Monday!
